To start learning hindi the basic step is to undertand the alphabet and sound associated with it. I call it alphabet- sound recognition. This is a fundamental tool in learning any phonetic (sound based) language and hindi is no exception. I highly recommend people to go through this list and analyze the sound of each alphabet before proceeding to other lessons.
